Xochicago: Floating Gardens of the Chicago River and México beautifully combines two vibrant waterway systems: the Chicago River and that of Xochimilco, an ancient settlement now nestled within the lively borough of Mexico City. Xochicago highlights the connection between the historic, nostalgic, and modern views of both places and thoughtfully compares the chinampas created by the Mexica (Aztec) with the floating gardens that Urban Rivers is bringing to life in Chicago.
