Join Louisa Proske, director of The Metropolitan Opera's new production of Verdi’s Macbeth, and James Shapiro, the Public Theater’s Shakespeare Scholar in Residence and Professor Emeritus of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University, for an evening of Shakespearean comparison. The event will include discussion of the parallels between the original text and Verdi’s opera, alongside performances of selections from the opera and excerpts from the play.
