Don’t Stand Up is a metaphor of Maria’s life in the shape of a stand-up comedy show that goes completely wrong. Maria is a Portuguese humidity officer at Humido Regulado who decides she needs to engage more with the English community. This absurd comedy weaves physical theatre and object manipulation with experimental sound design, where everything on stage is alive, reactive, and largely uncooperative.
