The Pamoja Project is Marques Carroll’s latest group to come out of Chicago, focusing on bringing a more electric, hip-hop, funk/neo soul infused mix to his writing and exploration. Inspired by Roy Hargrove’s the RH Factor and Terence Blanchard’s E Collective ensemble, the group's name is the Swahili word for 'togetherness'.
